Sergio Garcia was born in 1959 in Havana, Cuba.
He came to the U.S. with his family in 1961. They established themselves in Union City, New Jersey until 1969 when he came down and settled in South Florida.
Garcia is essentially a self-taught artist who embraces painting as his preferred medium of expression.
As an artist, he has been able to explore his past and present through his various stages or phases of outstanding work. Constantly struggling with issues from social and political landscapes, he portrays the human condition and personal identity like nobody else does.
